Client Challenge
CIRAS, part of the Rail Safety and Standards Board (RSSB), recognised a need for a mobile app that would enable its users to report safety concerns in the workplace. The project required specialised knowledge in mobile app development, user experience design, and data security, and presented a challenging timeline.
Client Opportunity
CIRAS had a priority project that would further their mission to enhance safety in the transport industry, but lacked the internal resources to deliver the mobile app by themselves. They needed a partner who could offer technical know-how, overcome obstacles, and collaborate effectively with their team to meet their unique needs.
Our Solution
Gemstone partnered with CIRAS to design and develop the mobile app. We took a cross-platform approach with React Native and followed an agile approach, enabling us to iteratively build, test, and improve the app. Our focus was on creating a user-friendly interface and ensuring high-level data security.
Understanding the delicate nature of integrating a new solution with CIRAS’s existing infrastructure based on Microsoft Dynamics, Gemstone chose a creative approach to design and develop the mobile app. We worked within the confines of the existing system, ensuring that the backend would not need any modifications.
